The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a specialized agency of the United Nations, is the world's largest tourism organization.  In January 2008, the UNWTO's membership is comprised of 153 countries, 7 territories and more than 300 Affiliate Members representing the private sector, educational institutions, tourism associations and local tourism authorities.
 The UNWTO Regional Support Office for Asia and the Pacific, opened in Osaka, Japan on 26th June 1995, is the 19th UN-related International Organization in Japan and the 2nd in the Kansai region.
