  1. Holding UNWTO International Conferences
The Office holds meetings of the UNWTO Commission for Asia and the Pacific (comprising 27 Member countries) to discuss future programs, as well as international conferences to promote tourism in the Asia -Pacific region.

  1. Poverty Reduction Projects through Tourism Development
Based on the principles of Sustainable Tourism-Eliminating Poverty (ST-EP), promoted by the UNWTO, the Office dispatches delegates from Japan to developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region to organize symposiums and business meetings. The purpose is to increase visitors from developed countries to those countries.

  1. Communications and PR Activities Concerning Activities of the UNWTO
The Office provides statistical materials on world tourism published by the UNWTO. It also communicates and publicizes the various tourism promotion activities by the UNWTO.

  1. Education and Training of Employees of Tourism-related Enterprises and Organizations in Developing Countries
To promote human resource development in the field of tourism, the Office holds education and training seminars in developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region for employees of tourism-related enterprises and organizations.
